INDIA PROJECT: RAINWATER HARVESTING
To provide a secure and sustainable source of clean water to the communities living in the communities in and around Kalimpong, India, which is located near the border between Nepal and India. Because this region receives one of the highest amounts of rainfall in the country, it's ironic that it doesn't possess a reliable source of water for drinking and sanitation. We, EWB-UCSD and the Rotary Club of Kalimpong, believe that building a rainwater harvesting and collecting system is the way to go. The idea that Kalimpong has proposed involves the construction of rooftop catchment system that channel into an underground reservoir.
